Hanukkah program to feature storyteller

Howard Schwartz, award-winning author and storyteller, will present “Jerusalem of Gold: Jewish Stories of the Enchanted City” at a Family Hanukkah Extravaganza at Congregation Kol Am, 1023 Chesterfield Parkway East, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16. Hanukkah and the City Museum

Congregation Shaare Emeth will hold a special Hanukkah event at the City Museum from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17. This afternoon is appropriate for families with children preschool through high school. The charge for the event is $8 per person. Reform Singles 60’s+ will host dinner, music

The Reform Singles 60’s+ will host a Hanukkah dinner followed by a musical program featuring Cantor Linda Blumenthal and the Shira Choir at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Temple Israel. Shalom Neighbor Candle Lighting

The Helene Mirowitz Department of Jewish Community Life at the Jewish Community Center is sponsoring the Shalom Neighbor Hanukkah Candle Lighting and Celebration from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at the Jewish Community Center’s Fox Building in Chesterfield. The event will begin with the lighting of the outdoor Agam Menorah. The cost for non-member families is $12 and for member families is $8. YPD Kicks Off 2007 with Oy Vegas II

Oy Vegas II … Double Down, a casino night, will kick off 2007 for the Jewish Federation of St. Louis’ Young Professionals’ Division on Saturday, Jan. 27, at The Westin of St. Louis, 811 Spruce Street (next to the stadium). Casino doors will be open from 8 to 11:30 p.m. The cost is $30 per person if registered by Jan. 15, or $35 at the door. Please bring canned foods to donate to the Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry. JSAN will conduct leadership training
