The Second Annual St. Louis Jewish Community Blood Drive is scheduled to take place on Sunday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Congregation Young Israel located at 8101 Delmar in U. City.

In January of 2008, Young Israel sponsored the first Jewish community blood drive. People throughout the community came together to volunteer and to donate blood, collecting 76 units of blood which were donated to the American Red Cross. Since each unit can benefit three individuals, the 76 units helped 228 lives.This year, the Jewish Social Action Network is endorsing and backing the blood drive, which welcomes all members of the community.
