Community Aging Corp. at Covenant/CHAI gets grant

The inability to maintain a home is often the catalyst for older adults to move into assisted living facilities. Thanks to an approval from the St. Louis Jewish Federation’s Board of Directors, $12,811 has been allocated to Community Aging Corporation, the philanthropic entity that provides services to residents of Covenant House/C.H.A.I. apartments, to help support their Homemaker Services program. The total comprises $6,521 from the Dorothy Moog Endowment and $6,290 from the United Way of Greater St. Louis.

With the funding, residents will be able to benefit from help with laundry and house cleaning. “It’s a fabulous program,” said Covenant/C.H.A.I.’s Director of Resident Services, Jenny Gilsinn. “The Homemaker Services program allows residents to age in place and live comfortably and with dignity.”

Currently, 66 residents regularly benefit from the program.
