Community Against Poverty Coalition ‘Hunger Forum’

Josh Protas, Director of Government Affairs for MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, will be among the speakers at a community forum on hunger co-sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council and its Community Against Poverty Coalition. Entitled “Where Justice and Charity Meet: Fighting Hunger in St. Louis,” the program is geared to both service providers and anti-hunger advocates. It takes place from 8 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 18 at the Norman K Probstein Golf Course Clubhouse, 6141 Lagoon Drive in Forest Park. The $10 charge includes breakfast.
The program opens with a keynote address by Jeanette Mott Oxford, Executive Director of the Missouri Association for Social Welfare. The first part of the program will focus on what is happening legislatively at the state and federal levels to address hunger issues. The second half will focus on regional resources available for St. Louis city and providers working to address hunger needs. The program concludes with facilitated network sessions.
