A challenge grant from Randy and Nancy Green matched $18,000 in donations to Jewish Federation with equal donations to Congregation Shaare Emeth. The challenge grant was aimed at motivate Shaare Emeth members who have never donated to Jewish Federation or did not donate in 2010, to support Federation’s 2011 Jewish Community Campaign. In return for each donated dollar, the Greens would match it with a donation to Shaare Emeth.
The Greens matched nearly $18,000 given to Federation by 94 donors with an $18,000 donation to Shaare Emeth.
Jewish Federation’s Annual Campaign funds a network of agencies, programs and services that provide Jewish education, strengthen Jewish identity, care for the community’s vulnerable, and educate and advocate for a strong Israel and safe Jewish world.
Shaare Emeth President Joe Pereles saw the Green Challenge Grant as a special opportunity. “It’s a credit to Federation and Congregation Shaare Emeth that the leadership of both collaborated in this fundraising effort that proved to be a true win-win. We are beyond lucky to have a community of such generous and caring individuals—our donors and, of course, Randy and Nancy.”
