Chabad to provide kosher food at Wash. U’s ThurtenE Carnival

For the 10th consecutive year, Washington University’s Chabad Student

Association will host a kosher food concession at ThurtenE Carnival. The group will serve classic fare such as hot dogs, knishes, dill pickles and soft drinks. More than 50 other student groups and hundreds of students will come together to put on the oldest and largest student-run carnival in the United States. Admission to the carnival is free, though tickets must be purchased for rides and some performances.

The carnival is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 19-21. In observance of Shabbat, kosher food will be served only on Sunday, April 21, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Rabbi Hershey Novack of Chabad on Campus will be on hand to ensure that the concession is strictly kosher. This year’s carnival will be in Washington University’s Brookings Drive, near the intersection of Skinker Boulevard and Lindell Boulevard, and easily accessible via Metrolink.
