Chabad of Greater St. Louis will be offering a Kosher Pickle Factory and Dinner on Sunday, Jan. 9. The family event will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Jewish Federation Kopolow Building, 12 Millstone Campus Drive.

Participants will learn the art and the history of the Kosher pickle as they taste pickles from around the world. The “Pickle Rabbi,” a.k.a. Rabbi Mendy Margolin, will be on hand to lead participants in making their own pickles. A simultaneous pickle-making program will be offered for children age 3 to 11. At 5 p.m. children and adults will enjoy a dinner of sub sandwiches, salads and pickles.

“Think of it as the wine tasting of pickles,” says Rabbi Levi Landa, director of programming for Chabad of Greater St. Louis. “It will be great tasting fun for the whole family and people will have a chance to personalize their own batch of pickles.”

The cost for adults is $15 per person and includes dinner and one jar of pickles. The cost for children is $8, and includes the pickle making workshop and dinner. Sponsorships are available for $180 and include a barrel of the Rabbi’s pickles and dinner for four.
