Chabad on Campus offers Birthright Israel ‘warmline’ for students

Area college students pose for a group picture on the Masada fortress during a recent Israel trip. Nearly 100 WashU, SLU, Webster and UMSL stduents participated in Birthright Israel trips coordinated by Chabad on Campus. To pre-register for winter 2017/18 trips or summer 2018 trips visit mayanotisrael.com or contact Chana R. Novack at [email protected].

Registration for the upcoming summer sessions of Birthright Israel trips with Mayanot has just started. To help make it easy for local students to register Chabad has opened a telephone “warmline,” (as opposed to a 24-7 “hotline,” the warmline is staffed during waking hours).

Through Feb. 11, students may call or text 314-698-0995 to learn more about 10-day Birthright Israel trips, which are available to Jewish young adults aged 18 through 26 who have never been to Israel on an educational tour with their peers.

Birthright Israel includes flights to Israel, accommodations at quality hotels, meals, a private bus, licensed tour guides, entry fees, emergency medical insurance, and more. A $250 deposit is required to secure a seat and will be returned after the trip.

More than 1,000 students and young adults from St. Louis and area colleges have taken Birthright Israel trips with Mayanot.

Mayanot has two scheduled departure options for area students on May 14 and May 22. Additional dates may be added based on need. To register for the trip, visit mayanotisrael.com

Birthright Israel is a partnership between the government of Israel, local North American Jewish federations including the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, and private Jewish philanthropists.
