Chabad Offers High Holiday Course
Published August 23, 2013
Chabad’s Academy of Jewish Learning will offer a three-part series of evening classes in advance of the High Holidays. Classes will be held at the Lazaroff Chabad Center, 8124 Delmar Blvd., on Aug. 28, September 10 and September 16 from 7:30-9:00 pm.
Like all of the Academy’s courses, this adult education offering is designed for people of all backgrounds and at all levels of Jewish knowledge. The series will present the fundamentals of Judaism in a way that is both substantive and accessible. Students will have the opportunity to encounter classic primary texts and engage in thoughtful, open discussion.
“Attendance at synagogues and participation in Jewish communal life is at a record high during the High Holidays. This course is an opportunity for each of us to connect with the holidays on a personal level and to make this time of year even more meaningful and inspiring.”, says Rabbi Levi Landa, the course instructor. “We will ask ourselves what these holidays communicate to us in 2013. I am looking forward to the great discussion.”
Interested students are welcome to try the first session free, without obligation to continue. The fee for the course is $18, which includes all materials. Students are invited to call Chabad at 314-725-0400 to enroll or visit ShowMeChabad.com/holidaycourse.
