Chabad offers cooking classes for children

Chabad of Chesterfield has opened registration for cooking classes geared to children age 5 through 11. Classes will be held from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. on five consecutive Wednesdays, starting Jan. 12, at Chabad of Chesterfield, 1639 Clarkson Rd. (in the Trader Joe’s shopping center off the corner of Clarkson & Baxter roads). Due to a number of requests, a Sunday afternoon class may be added, starting Jan. 9. Registration is $55 per five-week session, plus $15 for a utensil kit (includes a child centered recipe book, an apron, measuring cups and spoons, mixing bowls and other essentials). 

Participants will receive their own kids-sized cooking kit as well as create their own (photo) recipe books and learn important and essential cooking skills, kitchen safety and food preparation basics as they make and taste their own recipes.The classes combine Jewish history and international culture – along with the joy of cooking.
