Chabad of Chesterfield starts Shabbat in a Box Kids Club
Published March 23, 2011
Young children in Chesterfield have a new program to add some Jewish culture into their life with the Shabbat in a Box Kids Club. The weekly enrichment program will begin from 4 to 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, April 3. Children will have the opportunity to “get ready for Shabbat” by creating their own Shabbat box and Kiddush cup, challah cover and candlestick to put inside. Additionally, each week will feature a different recipe. From rolling matzah balls for their matzah ball soup to squeezing grapes to make grape juice children will participate in a hands-on way to make Shabbat come alive. Shabbat in a Box kids Club meets on Sunday afternoons April 3 and 10 and May 1 and 8 at Chabad of Chesterfield, 1639 Clarkson Road. The cost is $40 per session and is open to the public. No affiliation necessary. Limited space is available. Register online at www.ChabadOfChesterfield.com or email [email protected].
