Chabad of Chesterfield plans groundbreaking for new center

With a mission to reimagine how people experience Judaism, Chabad of Chesterfield breaks ground this fall on a long-awaited campus that will be located in Chesterfield Missouri. The 15,000-square-foot building will feature a library, Judaica shop, a cafe, a learning center, social hall, meeting spaces and so much more.
Led by Directors, Chana’la Rubenfeld and Rabbi Avi Rubenfeld, the planning for the new campus began several years ago with the vision of offering a place of warmth and a welcoming hub for Jewish life in Chesterfield. “The Chabad Center for Jewish Life will welcome every single Jew, regardless of affiliation, religiosity, status or orientation,” says Rabbi Rubenfeld.
With over 12,000 Jewish people living in the area, the goal of the center is to serve both as a gathering spot and a place to nurture learning, Jewish experience and community connection. The open-door policy is designed to encourage people to visit, participate and contribute in ways that will fulfill them personally and will enrich their faith and family.
Chabad of Chesterfield has been an active member of the Chesterfield community for over 17 years – expressing the tenets of Chabad-Lubavitch, a 250-year-old movement dedicated to the welfare of Jewish people worldwide, through service and events designed to encourage connection and learning.
Expressing their tagline of “Community that’s Family”, the Chabad of Chesterfield is known to host community-wide events like Family Hamentashen Bake-Off, Shabbat Socials with a twist(and Matzah Balls), Challah baking workshops, and let’s not forget the annual Chanukah Menorah Car Parade – celebrating its 10th anniversary this year!
The permanent home of Chabad of Chesterfield is expected to open its doors in the Summer of 2023. “We plan to have a full calendar of events that will host our community in unique and joyful ways!” says Chana’la Rubenfeld. “It is our sincere hope that the center will serve as a comfort and home to our Jewish neighbors”.
The Groundbreaking Event will be a festive occasion open to ALL! “We hope that our entire community will join us to celebrate this great milestone in our journey to lay a new Jewish foundation in Chesterfield,” adds Rabbi Rubenfeld. There will be activities for families and children, along with music and special guest speakers. The program will begin at 5:30pm on September 14th, 2022, at the 15310 Conway Road location.
Chabad of Chesterfield, under the auspices of Chabad of Greater St. Louis, has been serving the Chesterfield, Ballwin and Wildwood areas for the past 17 years as a local center of the worldwide Chabad Lubavitch movement.
