After searching for a permanent location for the past 3 ½ years, Chabad of Chesterfield has purchased a one-and-a-half-acre piece of property thanks to the generosity of the Feigenbaum-Pepose family. The property sits at the corner of Conway Road and Chesterfield Parkway 

Chabad plans to construct a 15,000 square foot building on the property in the next one to two years. The project plans to break ground in April of 2022.

“The community is invested in the vision and excited to make this happen,” said Rabbi Avi Rubenfeld, co-director of Chabad of Chesterfield, explaining that Chabad looks forward to using the space for a synagogue, an educational wing and ample room for exciting and innovative programming. “This new location is a big deal for us because it will allow us to expand the education, community and programming of our organization. We want this to be a community space where people feel warm, welcome and comfortable, all while having a rabbi on hand; no appointments necessary.” 

“Jay and I are delighted to provide resources for the creation of a Chabad Center in Chesterfield, a city that has shown incredible hospitality to Pepose Vision Institute for almost 25 years,’’ Susan Feigenbaum said in a statement. “Through Chabad’s educational programs and insights, we have become better people, more engaged family members and dedicated community partners. We look forward to continuing this personal growth and to extending this opportunity to others through the Chesterfield Chabad Center.”

The city is growing,” added Chanala Rubenfeld, co-director of Chabad of Chesterfield. “And we’re looking forward to growing as well, to being able to do more and bring more meaningful experiences and community connections to our wonderful City of Chesterfield.”

Chabad of Chesterfield, under the auspices of Chabad of Greater St. Louis, has been serving the Chesterfield, Ballwin and Wildwood areas for the past 17 years as a local center of the worldwide Chabad Lubavitch movement.
