Published November 30, 2011
The 15th annual Jewish College Fair for High School students and their families: “CHOICES Jewish College Fair-Looking at Colleges through Jewish Eyes.” will be held Sunday, Dec. 11, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Fifty-eight colleges and universities will be represented this year, including Bradley University, Duke University, Indiana University, Illinois University, University of Michigan, University of Minnesota, University of Missouri (Columbia, Kansas City and St. Louis campuses), University of Southern California, University of Texas (Austin), and University of Wisconsin. For a complete list, visit www.cajestl.org.
The fair is free to all high school students and their parents. Students can meet with local representatives and admissions counselors from a wide range of institutions to discuss course offerings, admission and financial aid requirements, college life in general, and other information pertinent to the college selection process. Representatives will have materials describing opportunities for Jewish expression, what the local Jewish community is like and Jewish course offerings available on their college campus. Results from our 2010 survey showed that 70 percent of the students added new schools to their consideration after attending CHOICES.
Additional participants at the Jewish College Fair include: the Sylvan Learning Center, MOST Missouri 529 College Savings Plan, Chabad on Campus, Teagan Education Consulting, Young Judaea, and Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity (the nation’s first Jewish fraternity).
CHOICES is coordinated by the Central Agency for Jewish Education, in cooperation with the JCC, beneficiary agencies of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis. For the first time this year the event will be at the Jewish Community Center, Staenberg Family Complex, 2 Millstone Campus Drive.
