CAJE plans annual ‘Yom Limmud: A Day of Discovery for Jewish Teens’

Teens participate in a Krav Maga seminar during last year’s Yom Limmud: A Day of Discovery for Jewish Teens.’ This year’s Yom Limmud takes place Sunday, Nov. 10 at B’nai Amoona. 

Central Agency for Jewish Education will hold its Yom Limmud: A Day of Discovery for Jewish Teens from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10 at Congregation B’nai Amoona, 324 S. Mason Road in Creve Coeur. 

Yom Limmud is a program for 8th-12th graders to join their friends for two workshops of their choosing followed by an engaging performance, “Standing By…Standing Up” by Tim Collins.  There are 26 workshops to choose from, including: YouTube and the Jewish You, Jews & Comic Books, This Girl is on Fire, Krav Maga, Making A Difference and The Art and Science of Song Leading. 

A Madrichim track is also offered for Religious and Hebrew School Teacher Assistants to sharpen their skills and learn how to be more effective in the classroom.  Presenters consist of community professionals, teachers, rabbis and youth directors.

Collins is an award-winning actor, writer and solo performer.  His one-man show about Bullying Prevention and Bystander Empowerment has entertained, educated and inspired audiences at schools and universities since 2001.
