Shaare Emeth Sponsors Branson Trip October 21-23

Shaare Emeth is sponsoring its sixth annual trip to Branson, Mo., Oct. 21-23. All interested community members are invited to join the trip. The line-up of shows will include Shoji Tabuchi, the accomplished Japanese violinist; music and dance with Lost in the 50s with the Platters; Red, Hot & Blue, music through the decades done in song and dance; and Andy Williams with Charo, renowned Flamenco guitarist.

Besides the shows, the package includes: roundtrip motorcoach; two night’s lodging; two full dinners; two breakfasts; all taxes, tips and baggage handling. Price is $399 per person double occupancy / $489 single. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Senior Adult Program and the Shaare Emeth Religious School. JCA gift shop to be renamed with dedication on Aug. 14

There will be a dedication and naming of the Auxiliary, JCA Gift Shop in memory of Deborah Ehrlich. The Deborah Ehrlich Gift Shop dedication and naming ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 11:30 a.m. at the Gift Shop (main entrance) at the Cedars at the JCA, 13019 South Outer Forty Road. Traditional Congregation holds current events class

A class on Israeli Current Events is again being presented at Traditional Congregation. Led by Zumi Brody, the class is held on the second Monday evening of each month at 8 p.m. The class highlights important Israeli issues and political events not usually discussed by the American media.

Kol Am will celebrate first anniversary of synagogue

Congregation Kol Am invites the community to join them in celebrating the first anniversary of the opening of their new synagogue at 1023 Chesterfield Parkway East in Chesterfield at a special Family Shabbat Service and Oneg reception on Friday, Aug. 10, at 7:30 p.m.

Yachad to play at Temple EmanuelM

The community is invited to a special Havdalah and musical program at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Temple Emanuel, 12166 Conway Rd.

The evening will begin with a dessert reception and Havdalah service followed by a musical performance, “Israel in Song,” presented by Yachad — The Traveling Tefillah Band, a Kansas City-based ensemble of vocalists and musicians.
