Congregation B’nai Amoona will offer two courses to the community starting in November. A 20-week Introduction to Judaism course will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday evenings, beginning Nov. 8. The course is aimed at members of the Jewish community who wish to supplement their knowledge of Jewish history, theology, observances, calendar and life-cycle, among other topics, as well as at people who may be interested in becoming Jewish. The course is free for members of B’nai Amoona and $50 for others. For more information and to register for the course, call 314-576-9990 ext. 103, or e-mail [email protected].
B’nai Amoona will also offer a six-week Hebrew Reading Crash Course, taking place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings, beginning Nov. 9. This course, held in conjunction with the National Jewish Outreach Program, is designed for people who do not read Hebrew at all and will enable them to be able to decode the letters and vowels. The goal is reading and not comprehension. For more information, call 314-576-9990 ext. 131 or e-mail [email protected].
