Bagels and Bliss had its official grand opening on Monday, May 12. St. Louis’ only certified kosher bagel shop is back from a post-Passover hiatus and has increased its capacity. Bagels are available beginning at 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday. The shop remains open until the supply is exhausted.

The storefront at 8151 Delmar Blvd. in University City had a soft opening in early March. Almost immediately, lines formed to get the fresh-baked New York style bagels. On May 5, St. Louis Magazine named the shop in its list of the best bagels in St. Louis.
During the soft launch period, Bagels and Bliss sold out its supply of hand-rolled bagels. At its peak, the shop produced 1,000 bagels in a day. Thanks to a new commercial-grade dough divider, Bagels and Bliss will be able to produce up to 2,000 bagels daily.
Initially, Bagels and Bliss offered plain, salt, sesame, garlic, onion, poppyseed and everything bagels. It subsequently added whole wheat and tzitzel. Tuna, lox, whitefish salad and egg salad are also available. All food is certified kosher by the Vaad Hoeir of St. Louis.
