Arts & Faith St. Louis holds interfaith concert

Arts & Faith St. Louis is presenting its 5th Annual Interfaith Concert on Sunday, Sept. 20, offering an opportunity for members of all faiths and backgrounds to gather for reflection and unity in hope of peace. This year’s concert, “Building a Harmonious St. Louis,” will feature internationally acclaimed soprano Christine Brewer and jazz and soul vocalist Brian Owens.

Rev. Starsky Wilson, president and CEO of the Deaconess Foundation and co-chair of the Ferguson Commission, will give opening remarks. Additional performers will include Rabbi James Stone Goodman, a gospel chorus from the St. Louis Symphony, a vocal ensemble of young people from Ferguson, a Catholic Hispanic ensemble, and groups from the Turkish Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Mormon communities. 

The concert takes place at the Sheldon Concert Hall, 3648 Washington Boulevard. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 5:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
