Annual Schnucks Ladue Crossing Hanukkah celebration planned

Hanukkah storytelling, STEAM activities for children and a singing presentation will be featured at the 26th annual Hanukkah Celebration to be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18 at Schnucks Ladue Crossing shopping center, I-170 at Ladue Road. The event will take place at the Barnes & Noble Booksellers.

The Hanukkah celebration will be emceed by Rabbi Moshe Shulman, head of school at the H.F. Epstein Hebrew Academy. It will feature Hanukkah storytelling with master educator Jackie Oppenheimer and Hanukkah songs. The event will also offer STEAM activities for children. 

All children will receive a free gift of traditional Hanukkah chocolate “gelt” (gold coins). Hanukkah begins the evening of Dec. 22 and is an eight-day celebration of the Festival of Lights commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple.

The Hanukkah celebration is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the merchants at Schnucks Ladue Crossing.
