Annual Couturier Event at NCJW Resale Shop set for Oct. 21-24

Shoppers seeking bargains on high-end clothing and accessories will gather Oct. 21-24 at the National Council of Jewish Women’s (NCJW) annual Couturier Event.  Couturier will take place at the Resale Shop, a charitable project of NCJW-St. Louis Section, 8612 Olive Boulevard (at McKnight) in University City.

The Couturier Preview Night takes place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 for a $10 donation per person at the door. Admission is free during the rest of the Couturier Event, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24.

Shoppers at the Couturier event will get an incredible selection of high-end designer name clothing, accessories, bags, cashmere, furs, coats, leather goods, home goods, jewelry and more at bargain prices.  Women’s merchandise at this year’s Couturier includes upscale business, dressy and casual wear, wedding gowns, scarves, racks of furs and shoes and designer brands such as Armani, Ferragamo, Leonard Paris, St. John Knits, Valentino, along with brands such as Chico’s, J. Jill, Ralph Lauren and Talbots.  Men’s merchandise will include upscale business and casual wear, outerwear, hats, shoes, gloves, ties and cuff links from names like Armani, Banana Republic, Ralph Lauren, and much more.  There also will be a large selection of jewelry including 14k gold items, sterling silver and vintage costume jewelry. The Home Shop within the store will feature art, silver, crystal, china and lamps.

“This is absolutely the best resale fundraising event in St. Louis, especially when you consider that our shoppers get the same brand names as they would at high-end stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom’s, Neiman Marcus and other great fashion boutiques,” says Jill Gubin, NCJW’s Vice President of Retail.  “We just provide those designer items at much lower prices.”

The Couturier event includes special sections for jewelry, furs, cashmeres, leathers, vintage, knits, formals and home accent items.

“Our focus, as always, is on fashionable, affordable designer name clothing, jewelry and accessories,” notes Gubin.

Proceeds from Couturier benefit NCJW’s community service and advocacy projects, including the Back-to-School! StoreTM and Kids Community Closet for underserved children, as well as the Wife-Widow-Woman support group and the Silent Witness Exhibit for domestic violence awareness.
