Aish schedules Rosh Hashanah services, programs

Aish HaTorah has planned a variety of upcoming events for Rosh Hashanah, including learners services, a holiday dinner and classes. 

Aish will offer learners services at two locations on Sept. 9 and 10. The learners services aim to be “concise, inspirational, traditional, yet totally alternative,” according to a news release, with questions welcomed and no knowledge of Hebrew required.

At 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, Rabbi Yosef David will lead a Rosh Hashanah learners service at Nusach Hari B’nai Zion, 650 N. Price Road in Olivette. 

At the same time, Aish’s Rabbi Shmuel Greenwald will lead a learners service at the Aish Firehouse, 457 N. Woods Mill Road in Chesterfield. Immediately after the service at the Firehouse, Shmuel and Chana Greenwald will host a Rosh Hashanah dinner at 8 p.m. The cost for dinneris $25 per adult, $15 per child (ages 5-11); children under 5 are free. On Monday, Sept. 10, David will lead a Rosh Hashanah learners service at NHBZ at 10 a.m., followed by Kiddush at 12:30 p.m. Greenwald will lead a learners service at 10 a.m. at the Aish Firehouse at the same time, also with Kiddish to follow at 12:30.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, Mimi David will lead two Rosh Hashanah classes, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at NHBZ in Olivette. For more information, call the Aish office at 314-862-2474 or email [email protected].
