60+ luncheon with ElderLink speaker rescheduled

The St. Louis Conservative Synagogue Joint Initiative for “60+” Programming will present a “60+” Luncheon and Program at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13 at B’nai Amoona, 324 South Mason Road in Creve Coeur.

The lunch and program, titled “Getting Over Getting Older,” will feature an honest and upbeat presentation by Marcia Mermelstein, MSW, a Senior Adult Information and Resource Specialist with the ElderLink St. Louis program at Jewish Family and Children’s Service. The talk will be based on Letty Cottin Pogrebin’s book, “Getting Over Getting Older: An Intimate Journey.” Mermelstein’s focus will be on how important it is “to be mindful, to live consciously and to ‘unhurry’ time – and on how Judaism’s emphasis on the holiness of time can help us accomplish those goals.”

The cost is $7 for lunch (Vegetarian meal available if ordered in advance). RSVPs are required for lunch. Call Barbara Shechter at 314-576-9990, ext. 126 by Monday, Jan. 10.

Although RSVPs are required for lunch, walk-ins are welcome to attend the discussion.
