A large group of JCC supporters, volunteers and donors gathered on Wednesday, May 29 for the organization’s 144thannual meeting. During the event, the J was referred to on several occasions as “the town square of the Jewish community” to describe its importance as a key resource in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
Highlights of the J’s impact were also shared, including: 5,000 lbs. of fresh produce from the Garden of Eden feeding hungry members of the community; 13,215 free meals provided to food insecure seniors; 13,453 program attendees, and $681,194 awarded in scholarships and discounts.
In addition to installation of incoming board members and officers, awards were presented. The J Associations Emerging Leader Award went to Madelon Scallet. Tamika Davis received the Mark Kodner Inspiration Award. The IE Millstone Community Service Award went to Richard Harris. Debbie Braunstein received the new Lynn Wittels Professional Leadership Award and the Richard S. Weiss President’s Award went to W. Ted Isaacs.
