Light to hold ‘Primetime Expo’ for boomers, seniors
Published September 7, 2011
The St. Louis Jewish Light is pleased to introduce Primetime Expo, a face-to-face opportunity for baby boomers and older adults to learn about products and services that contribute to better living and assist in navigating the retirement path.
Primetime Expo will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at the Jewish Community Center in Creve Coeur. Admission is free. Food, beverages and door prizes will be available.
Representatives from more than 40 companies and organizations will be on hand to answer questions and educate boomers and senior adults about a wide range of products and services in such categories as health/fitness/ wellness, retail, legal services, financial planning, beauty/ fashion, retirement living, insurance, senior care, technology, home modification/improvement services, recreational activities, social services, charitable organizations, parental care, dining and many more.
Primetime Expo was created in response to a growing need to prepare those 40 and older about the future and because of the following trends:
Baby boomers, the generation born between 1946 and 1964, represent a market of 77 million people in the United States.
For the next 19 years, nearly 10,000 Americans will turn age 65 every day.
In the St. Louis area and particularly the community served by the Jewish Light, this demographic group is very prominent.
The baby boomer generation is increasingly concerned about financial and overall well-being. According to recent research, only 11 percent of the Boomer population is convinced it will be able to retire in comfort.
Despite their size and significance, boomers and senior adults are underserved in opportunities to directly gather information at a single event or resource.
The key mission of Primetime Expo is to serve as a “big tent” to expose as much information about planning for the future in a single setting under one roof.
Primetime Expo will include eight “breakout” seminars with experts on such topics as health and wellness, elderly law, financial planning, retirement benefits, social aspects of aging, parental care and services available to assist families. The sessions are free, but seating is limited at these sessions. The complete schedule will be available Sept. 15. Register online after Sept. 15 to ensure a spot at www.stljewishlight.com.
Primetime Expo Trade Show level sponsors are BJC Healthcare, ElderLink, Gershman Mortgage, The Cedars and Edward Jones Investments.
Platinum and Gold Level Exhibitors are BJC Home Care, Spectrum Planning Group, Brentmoor Retirement Community, Costco, Ostrica LLC and Gatesworth Retirement Community.
In addition to the sponsors, Primetime Expo will include exhibits and representatives from the following companies and organizations: New York Life/Rochelle Freeman, Senior Transition Services Realtors, AW Healthcare, Studio Michal Meron, Straub’s Markets, Always Best Care, Alzheimer’s Association of St. Louis, Henry Plumbing, Debra Schuster Attorney at Law, Clarkson Eyecare, Senior Advisory Alliance, Holiday Heating, J.
