Letter to sponsors of “Anti-Discrimination Against Israel Act”
Published May 16, 2018
[The following letter was sent to the sponsors of the “Anti-Discrimination Against Israel Act” in the Missouri legislature: Sen. Mike Kehoe, Sen. Jill Schupp and Speaker of the House Todd Richardson.]
Thank you for sponsoring the “Anti-Discrimination Against Israel Act.” On behalf of the faith communities and constituencies we represent, we commend you for your passion and dedication to this bill.
Once passed, Missouri will become the 25th state to send a clear message that hate and bigotry have no place in our state. We appreciate your recognition that national origin boycotts directed at Israel ultimately lead to discriminatory business practices.
Thank you once again for standing with Israel, supporting the Israel-Missouri relationship, and advocating for an atmosphere of tolerance and respect in Missouri. We stand with you and the other leaders who have stood tall to drive the efforts on House Bill 2179 and Senate Bill 849, and will support you in your next steps to ensure the bills success and positive results before the end of the current legislative session.
