A host of stars of the popular Israeli TV show Fauda are among hundreds of thousands of Israelis called up for reserve duty over the past 10 days.
Israel declared war on October 7 after more than 1,500 Hamas gunmen infiltrated Israel from the Gaza Strip, indiscriminately attacking civilian communities in a violent rampage that killed over 1,300 people and injured thousands.
Among the actors who showed up for reserve duty were Tzachi Halevi, Idan Amedi, Tomer Capone, and Yaakov Zada Daniel.
In addition, the show’s co-creators Lior Raz, Avi Issacharoff and Yohanan Plesner all joined thousands of soldiers as volunteers for “Brothers in Arms,” an alliance of reservists who oppose the government’s judicial reform plan.

“I headed down south to join hundreds of brave ‘Brothers in Arms’ volunteers who worked tirelessly to assist the population in the south of Israel. We were sent to the bombarded town of Sderot to extract two families,” Raz wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Fauda director Rotem Shamir told The Hollywood Reporter when he saw social-media footage of the actors in their uniforms, it looked like a scene from the show, rather than reality.
Amedi also posted a message on social media, saying, “No, this is not a scene from Fauda, this is real life. We are here to protect our children, families and homes.”
Halevi, meanwhile, linked up with the Inbar unit, a reserve division of the Border Police. A week before the start of the war, Halevi was pictured during a raid on a criminal gang in Lod along with members of the Inbal unit, where he volunteers regularly.
The actor’s wife, TV presenter Lucy Aharish, made headlines last week after she appealed to the international community in the wake of the Hamas attacks. Aharish, who is an Arab Israeli, called for unity and labeled the attack “unforgivable.”
