David Beckham might bring professional soccer to Miami

Thanks to David Beckham, there’s a chance Miami will have its very own Major League Soccer team, Sports Illustrated reports.
The retired soccer star is supposedly willing to shell out $25 million to get the project started, a source told the Associated Press.
While technically a quarter Jewish (his maternal grandfather was a member of the tribe), Beckham has said he identifies as “half Jewish.” The way we see it, a move to Miami will definitely give his Jew-o-meter score a nice boost. It also doesn’t hurt that he looks quite dashing in a yarmulke.
Beckham visited South Florida in June to scout homes for the team, checking out Sun Life Stadium where the Dolphins play, and Florida International University Stadium.
“We’re ready and we’re excited about the possibility of having top-flight professional soccer back in Miami,” Mayor Carlos Gimenez said. “With people from all over the world living in our community, this is an ideal market for MLS and David Beckham is the right person to make it happen.”
Bring it, Becks! Oh, and if you need tips on finding a local Jewis
