Joint Venture of Metropolitan St Louis is a 25-plus year coalition focused on improving racial and religious diversity relationships. It was formed between CRC and several Christian congregations that are primarily composed of people of color. The members of Joint Venture’s Dialogue Group took a bus trip to Memphis visiting the recently renovated National Civil Rights Museum located within the Lorraine Motel, the location where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. Other stops included the Stax Museum of American Soul Music to understand the impact of the music industry on the country’s civil rights history and the Slave Haven Underground Railroad Museum, a plantation built for the purpose for being a stop on the underground railroad.  Photo: Philip Deitch
