Blessings for Dachau victim

Howard Shalowitz (left) and Rabbi Yosef Landa officiate at the burial of an unknown Dachau victim’s remains at Chevra Kadisha Cemetery on April 3. A U.S. soldier brought the remains home after the war, and they remained stashed in an envelope until the soldier’s family found them in 2014. The family reached out to the Holocaust Museum and Learning Center for help in deciding how to provide an appropriate resting place for the remains. Photo: Andrew Kerman
