For too long, the focus on Israel in the American media has been overwhelmingly on matters of war, conflict and politics.  While those matters are critically important and must be covered, there are so many other aspects of Israeli everyday life that are given short shrift.

Israel Alive!, which launches today and will run six to eight times a year in the Jewish Light, seeks to provide a more comprehensive, well-rounded look at Israel. Our mission with this new feature is to present coverage of all facets of life there, including arts, entertainment, education, sports, industry, commerce, technology, science, health, and other aspects of what makes Israel a unique, exciting and world-class nation.
