More than 110 parents and children from the community attended Epstein Hebrew Academy’s Healthy Me Day on Oct. 10. EHA faculty prepared and ran booths in front of the school, each with lessons and experiences on how to tend to one’s physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Children took part in a yoga class, arts and crafts projects, exercises in improving one’s self-image, watching puppet shows, and listening to readings, each with the aim on how we can keep ourselves at our best.

In addition, both children and adults learned about what healthy eating choices look like, the reason and importance of washing hands as part of Jewish ritual, and how brachot/blessings raise awareness and gratitude for what we have.  Academic Principal Itta Boyko welcomed everyone and new Head of School Rabbi Shmuel Miller “anchored the event in song and a message of how caring for our whole selves is also the first step in truly caring for others,” according to a news release.
