Published March 8, 2017
Marcene and Steve Tockman of Creve Coeur are celebrating their 60th anniversary. They are both St. Louis natives and class of 1954 graduates of University City High School (they were high school sweethearts).
Rabbi Jerome Grollman officiated at Marcene and Steve’s wedding on March 31, 1957. They lived on the naval base in Millington, Tenn., while Steve served in the Marine Corps, followed by two years in Boston before returning to St. Louis. The Tockmans are the proud parents of Dr. Craig, (Livermoore, Calif.) Robert (Houston) and Gary (Chesterfield) and loving in-laws to Mindy, Joyce and Laura. They love spending time with their seven precious grandchildren: Sydelle, SeSe, Andy, Devin, Mallory, Julian and Liam.
Marcene and Steve have been active volunteers in the Jewish community. Both are past presidents of B’nai B’rith, B’nai B’rith Women (now Jewish Women International) and BBYO. Marcene served on the board of Covenant Place, and is still involved in their programming. She is event director for Senior Tap Olympics (JCC). She was crowned Ms. Senior Missouri 1999. They are past presidents of Creve Coeur Days, remaining on their current board. Steve is a past President of the Parkway Central Hockey Board.
Being recipients of many service awards is a special honor to them. Steve works at Lou Fusz and keeps up with sporting events. Marcene teaches tap, and is a St. Louis Strutter, performing 80 shows yearly. They have traveled extensively and feel blessed for their 60 loving years together. The Tockmans will be blessed at United Hebrew Congregation at 6:30 p.m. on March 31, and they look forward to celebrating with family and friends.
