At Shir Hadash, expect to be wowed. 

Expect to be warmly welcomed the first time you visit, and already part of our small, inclusive community by your second visit. We’re only 55 members, so it’s easy to get to know us.

Expect to enjoy wonderful music with our new spiritual leader, Cantor Joshua Finkel.

Expect to learn new ideas and perspectives from our intellectual discussions every week that deal with Torah, ethics, current events and cultural topics. Do not expect a sermon; we only have one of those a year.

Expect participative Shabbat and holiday celebrations, observances and services which express the best of liberal Judaism. If you don’t know Hebrew, you’ll be fine; everything is transliterated. 

Expect to enjoy potluck dinners to celebrate the first Shabbat of each month. Good food and great company are a wonderful combination.

Expect a Reconstructionist approach to Judaism. We are constantly working to integrate Jewish tradition, music, culture and art with contemporary America.
