Marlee, daughter of Shana and Gary Singer of Olivette, did several random acts of kindness for her bat mitzvah project.
The first was a linen collection that lasted about three months. Marlee emailed friends and family requesting old towels, sheets and blankets for the Humane Society of Missouri. This prompted many of them to get a jump-start on their spring cleaning and Marlee even helped some of her donors clean out their closets.
In total, Marlee collected three carloads filled with generous donations. The Humane Society was very grateful and Marlee had fun visiting and playing with the animals.
Marlee’s second random act of kindness was baking and delivering cookies to her neighbors, local police officers and fire fighters. She made two kinds; oatmeal butterscotch and M&Ms and they were greatly appreciated.
Lastly, Marlee randomly, and anonymously, gave candy to her friends at Ladue Middle School just to be sweet.
