Minnette (Levinson) Liberman and Joe Liberman of Chesterfield are celebrating their 71st anniversary. 

Joe and Minnette went to high school together at Soldan High School. The day after Joe returned home from serving in the Navy during World War II, he asked Minnette to marry him. 

Joe and Minnette were married at The Starlight Room at the Chase Park Plaza on Sept. 15, 1946.

Minnette, 90, now enjoys playing mahjong with her friends and working out at Wellbridge. Joe, 91, loves to play both tennis and golf. Their favorite activities include going out to dinner with their family and friends.

Joe and Minnette’s children are Bonnie (Sid) Kohn of Tucson, Ariz.; Terry (Jan) Liberman of Ballwin; and Scott (Barb) Liberman of St. Louis. They have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild — they are expecting their second in February.
