Gersteins celebrate 60th anniversary

Harvey and Wilma Gerstein of Chesterfield are celebrating their 60th anniversary.
Harvey and Wilma are St. Louis natives. Harvey graduated from Soldan-Blewett High School and Washington University. Wilma is a graduate of Clayton High School and attended Fontbonne College. Harvey spent most of his working career as a Vice President of Miss Elaine Inc.
Harvey and Wilma are active in the St. Louis Jewish community. Harvey was founder and president of Covenant House, a past president of the Jewish Community Center and a past vice president of Jewish Federation.
Wilma is a past president of J Associates and a past board member of Covenant House. They belong to both Congregation B’nai Amoona and Congregation Shaare Emeth.
The couple’s children are Larry (JoEllen) Gerstein, Mindee (Mike) Greenberg and Edie (Niall) Jansson. Their grandchildren are Devin and Tyler Gerstein; Ryan, Adam and Abby Meltzer; and Amber and Morgan Jansson.
The Gersteins plan on celebrating their anniversary with friends at their winter home in Scottsdale, Ariz. They will celebrate with their family in early summer.
“We are very lucky to be in good health, with three wonderful children and their spouses,” the couple noted. “Also, we love our seven super grandchildren.”
