ADLERS CELEBRATE 50 YEARS

Adlers celebrate 50 years

Siegfried and Carol (Ellman) Adler will celebrate their fiftieth anniversary on October 9. They are planning to celebrate with a trip to Disney World with their children and grandchildren during Hanukkah. They are the proud parents of the late Sheldon Adler, Julie and Steven Freedman and Richard and Dawn Adler. They are the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren. Sig and Carol met through her friend DeeDee Kaplan and his friend Freddie Kaplan, who were brother and sister. Sig and Carol have always been in business for themselves. They once owned a Tomboy grocery store at Gravois and Loughborough avenues. Then they owned sandwich shops in five downtown office buildings until Sig was shot in a hold-up. They then owned Tel-Aviv Deli in Creve Coeur for about 15 years and sold it in 1994. Sig and Carol’s passion is travel. Neither of them traveled at all growing up but since their marriage, they have been all over the globe. They intend to continue this until they are no longer able.
