Circus Flora

Description: As Circus Flora’s storytellers will describe, malfeasance and misconduct have occurred in the circus tent. But all the witnesses saw something different, and all the evidence points to contradictory conclusions. Join Circus Flora for “The Trial of the Century,” its 35th annual show, featuring circus acts from around the world in the intimacy of the Big Top.


Teen Schmooze at NHBZ

Where/When? Every Sunday morning at Nusach Hari B’nai Zion, 650 N. Price Road. Middle schoolers meet from 9-9:30 a.m. and high schoolers meet 9:30-10 a.m.

Description: Join Rabbi Avi Okin at NHBZ on Sunday mornings for a schmooze on the patio about Jewish and non-Jewish topics geared for middle schoolers (9-9:30 a.m.) and high schoolers (9:30-10 a.m.). Teens do not need to be members of NHBZ to participate.

Description: Recommended for ages 10, Dessa is a 12-year-old scientist whose days are filled with buried treasures waiting to be uncovered. But when her family of three unexpectedly becomes a family of two, Dessa struggles to overcome her grief and anger at all the changes in her worldHer unlikely comfort comes from a  friend only she can see and hear—Mary Anning, the 19th-century paleontologist who discovered a breakthrough dinosaur fossil at age 12 and became a pioneer in her field. But why is her portrait not on the museum wall alongside those of her male counterparts? Dessa decides that she’s going to fight to earn Mary the respect she deserves.

Boo at the Zoo
