Spiced Dipping Oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
  • 3 tbsp. za’atar seasoning mix (available at Penzeys or Global Foods)
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, tough stems discarded
  • 1 tsp. freshly grated lemon zest
  • ½ c. extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ tsp. coarse kosher salt, plus more to taste


With food processor on, drop smashed garlic through food tube. Let process until garlic is minced. Add za’atar, cilantro, and lemon zest and pulse mixture until finely chopped. With food processor on, drizzle oil through food chute.

Transfer dipping oil to a bowl and pass with fresh pita bread.
