Caramelized Apples and Ice Cream

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
6 Pippin or Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and each apple cut into 8 wedges
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon apple cider or fruit-flavored liqueur
1 quart vanilla ice cream
Directions:
Heat butter in large pan or skillet over medium heat. Add apples, sugar, and cider or liqueur. Sauté mixture until apples begin to soften and caramelize, about 10-15 minutes.
Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream into 6 bowls. Spoon some apples and sauce over ice cream and serve.
Makes 6 servings.
