Lost Tables is bringing St. Louis’ restaurant history to life—one bite at a time. Dr. Harley Hammerman, known for his deep dives into local restaurant history on his website “Lost Tables,” has turned his passion into a podcast. Recently, Hammerman turned his focus to restaurateur Danny Meyer, the man behind Union Square Café and Shake Shack, who grew up eating at some of St. Louis’ long-lost culinary gems.
“Restaurants hold a special place in our lives,” Hammerman said. “Some we remember for their food, others for their atmosphere, and some for who we dined with.”
The newest episode of “Lost Tables” digs into Meyer’s memories of St. Louis restaurants that helped shape his early love of food. Expect a mix of nostalgia, interviews, and a little help from AI—Hammerman uses an AI narrator named “Delilah” for the show.
