Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is a nonprofit, 1,638 licensed-bed, tertiary-care, teaching hospital that is consistently ranked among the best hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital’s 1,700-member medical staff is supported by a house staff of more than 800 residents, interns and fellows, in addition to nurses and other health care professionals. Barnes-Jewish Hospital’s unique services for the Jewish community include the presence of a rabbi to attend to the diverse religious and spiritual needs of affiliated and unaffiliated Jewish patients, families and staff.
