Wise Women . . . Resilient Lives
A Storytelling Photo Exhibit Spotlights Seniors in Celebration of Women’s History Month
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the Wise Women . . . Resilient Lives social photography exhibition is a storytelling event worth seeing in celebration of Women’s History Month in March.
In her latest project, local portrait photographer, educator, and social worker Cathy Lander Goldberg shines a light on 14 seniors, including two Jewish women, which will be on display at The Ethical Society, 9001 Clayton Road, March 5 through April 23.
Unlike Goldberg’s other Resilient Souls series which followed a group of young women from their teens and 20s into middle age, this one focuses on women in their golden years, ages upper 70s to 90s, and gives a voice to a diverse demographic that is often overlooked.
These women come from all walks of life, ethnicities, careers, backgrounds, and sexual orientations, but what they have in common is their willingness to share their perspectives on living meaningful lives through volunteering, advocating, writing, working, learning, teaching, traveling, creating, physical activity, humor, gratitude, faith, patience, self-kindness, hope, pleasure, positivity, problem-solving and connecting with others.
