Hidden gems in rare books & manuscripts

Join Renee Jones, research manager of rare books and manuscripts, St. Louis Public Library, from 10 to 11 a.m. as she provides an exciting discussion and overview of the history of the written word from around the world. She will discuss Sumerian cuneiform clay tablets, papyrus scrolls, illuminated manuscripts, and the advent of the printing press. Special attention is given to beautiful book bindings. The items featured are held in the Rare Books & Manuscripts Department at the library. They are accessible to the public for viewing and study. This program is provided in conjunction with FEL (Friends Enjoying Life), an organization supported by the Mirowitz Center. To register for this free, online Mirowitz Center program, visit http://bit.ly/Mirowitz-registration, call 314-733-9813 or email [email protected].
