Marian and Bud Hirsch celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 3, 2011 with a family dinner party at The Gallery at Chesterfield Arts. They are the proud parents of Robin Hirsch, Jeff Hirsch and his wife, Donna Parrone and Tracy and Andy Speller. They are the proud grandparents of Jake and Anna Speller. Donna’s daughter, Caroline Parrone was unable to attend. They met while at the University of Pennsylvania and were married on Aug. 27, 1961. Bud worked for World Color Press before going into academia, getting a Ph.D. in Accounting from Washington University. He taught for over 25 years at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Marian got her MSW at Washington University and was in private practice until retirement. They have two dogs and three horses and enjoy dining with friends and family and going to the theater.
