ZISSMAN-FISHMAN WEDDING

Heather Jennette Zissman, daughter of the late Debra Friedman Zissman of San Antonio, Texas, Eddie Zissman of El Paso, Texas, and Debbie Greenfield Zissman of Houston; and Douglas Shawn Fishman, son of Myron and Cindy Fishman of St. Louis, were married May 29, 2011 in Houston, where a double-ring ceremony was officiated by Rabbi A. Brian Stoller of Congregation B’nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim of Deerfield, Ill., and Cantor Vadim I. Tunitsky of Congregation Emanu El. A wedding reception followed at Braeburn Country Club in Houston.
She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Larry Greenfield of Houston, the late Phillip and Jennie Zissman of El Paso, and the late Sonny and Francis Friedman of San Antonio. He is the grandson of the late Ben and Bertha Fishman of St. Louis and the late David Ginsberg and Miriam Ginsberg Barack of St. Louis.
The bride chose Andrea Kuperman as her matron of honor. The groom chose David Amsterdam as best man.
Zissman is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in human development and family sciences. She earned a master of physical therapy from The University of Texas Medical Branch and a doctor of physical therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She is a physical therapist specializing in spinal cord injury at The Institute of Rehabilitation and Research in Houston.
Fishman is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin. He received his M.D. from Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. He completed a residency in pediatrics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine and fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Harvard Medical School. He is currently an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine and the Director of GI Endoscopy at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.
Following a wedding trip to New Zealand, the couple resides in Houston.
