Lindsey Weinberg and Mark Kaplan have announced their engagement.

Lindsey is the daughter of Donald and Karen Weinberg of St. Louis. Mark is the son of Steve and Sara Kaplan of Memphis.

The couple met on a Jewish dating app, and both were open to meeting someone from a different state. They started with a few FaceTime dates, which lasted for hours at a time. Mark came to St. Louis for their first date on July 5, 2019.

“When we met in person, it was very clear we had a special connection,” Lindsey said. “The spark you always hoped you would find.”

The couple always made sure to have another time set for when they would see each other next, and when COVID-19 came around, Mark moved to St. Louis so they could quarantine together.

“Our time together turned into the most special, unexpected blessing — a love that we will treasure and celebrate for the rest of our lives,” Lindsey said.

Mark is a Financial Advisor with Compass Retirement Solutions. Lindsey is an Estate Planning Attorney (and Partner) with The Laiderman Law Firm, P.C.

A May 2022 wedding is planned.
