Fredman-Karney

Jocelyn Bly Fredman, daughter of Howard Fredman and Berna Lynn Warner of Los Angeles, California, and Brian Howard Karney, son of David and Marsha Karney of St. Louis, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Sydine Fredman of Saint Louis. He is the grandson of Thomas and Esther Goldenberg of St. Louis.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Princeton University and The University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business where she earned a B.A. degree in architecture and an M.B.A. degree in business. She is currently working in finance for Wells Fargo Bank.

Her fiance is a graduate of Kansas University where he earned a B.A. degree in business. He is currently working for Guidance Software as the Director of Product Management.

An October, 2006 wedding is planned.

Honigbaum-Granok

Jodi Leigh Honigbaum, daughter of Joel and Linda Honigbaum of Indianapolis, and Howard Alan Granok, son of Jerrold Granok of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and Tara Allen of Manchester, N.H., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Lucille Honigbaum of St. Louis, the late Ben and Sylvia Snyder of Cheyenne, Wyo., and St. Louis and the late Arthur and DeVera Honigbaum of St. Louis.

He is the grandson of the late Sam and Betty Allen of Albuquerque, N.M., and the late Ben and Rose Granok of Chicago, Ill.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of North Central High School in Indianapolis and Indiana University, where she earned a double B.A. degree in sociology and Jewish studies, and Washington University, where she earned a master’s degree in social work. She is currently a case manager at Cooperative Home Care in St. Peters. Her fianc é is a graduate of Manzano High School in Albuquerque, N.M., and Emory University, where he earned a B.S. degree in biology, and Washington University, where he earned a Ph.D. in molecular genetics. He is currently chair of the science department at Crossroads College Preparatory School in St. Louis.

A December 2006 wedding is planned.

Ikens celebrate 60 years

Julie and Joe Iken celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 11, 2006. To celebrate they spent a glorious weekend of events at Shaare Zedek synagogue. The celebration started with a Friday night dinner and continued with Saturday morning services followed by a Kiddish luncheon for their Shaare Zedek family, extended family, and dear friends, and a Sunday morning brunch.

The Ikens are the parents of Dr. Lawrence (Elaine) Iken, Dr. Richard (Gwyn) Iken, Ronald (Debby) Iken, Harvey (Dr. Dorit Daphna) Iken, and Linda (David) D’Agrosa and the grandparents of 18 and the great-grandparents of four.
