Melissa Mallen, daughter of Linda and Mark Mallen of Chesterfield, and Michael Benowitz, son of Shirley and Richard Benowitz of New York, were married on July 15, 2006, at the Yale Club in New York. A wedding reception followed the ceremony at the Yale Club. The officiant was Rabbi Howard Kaplansky.

The groom is the grandson of the late Laura and Victor Capelluto, and the late Doris and Monte Benowitz. The bride is the granddaughter of Sylvia Levinson and the late David Levinson, and Anita Mallen and the late Jack Mallen.

Bridesmaids were Julie Kamps, Meryl Sommer, Allison Stern, and Jessica Underwood.

The groom chose Theodore Cohen as best man. Groomsmen were Dave Levinson, Howard Schwartz, Andrew Sommer, and Stefan Mallen, brother of the bride.

The flower girl was Remi Levinson, cousin of the bride.

Following a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple resides in New York.

Shinn-Stein

Kara Nicole Shinn, daughter of Edwin and Peggy (Shinn) Rowold of Chesterfield and Dr. Arthur and Madlynn (Levin) Shinn of Marlboro, N.J., and Adam Jacob Stein, son of Becki and Gary Stein of Chesterfield, were married Aug. 19, 2006 at United Hebrew Congregation. Rabbi Howard Kaplansky officiated. A wedding reception followed at United Hebrew Congregation.

She is the granddaughter of the late Stella Parkins See of West Virginia, and the late Lewis E. See of Missouri and the late Eleanor and Frederick Shinn of New York. He is the grandson of Doris and the late Glenn Carlson of Avon Lake, Ohio, and David and the late Phyllis Stein of Miami Beach, Fla.

The bride chose Caitlin Shinn, her sister, as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Alissa Stein, sister of the groom; Michelle McKay; Michelle Skala; and Hannah Prevedel. The groom chose Josh Landau as his best man. Groomsmen were Robert Peterson, Andrew Ra, Seth Wilson and Eric Saavedra.

Following a wedding trip to Chicago, the couple resides in Tampa, Fla.

Lewis-Rothstein

Ellen Marie Lewis, daughter of Larry and Linda Lewis and the late Judy Lewis of Edinburg, Ind., and Adam Scott Rothstein, son of Mark and Debbie Rothstein of Chesterfield, were married July 15, 2006, at Culbertson West Mansion, where Merlyn Bartlett officiated. A wedding reception followed the ceremony at the Culbertson West Mansion. She is the granddaughter of the late Forrest and Ellen Lewis, the late Dean and Ruth Gentry and the late Odie Burns.

He is the grandson of Allan and Betty Polinsky of St. Louis, and the late Abraham and Sophie Rothstein of St. Louis.

Lisa Pollert was maid of honor. Bridemaids were Amy Rothstein, sister of the groom; Laura White; Tara Manno; and Becky Howard, cousin of the bride. Kendyll Rose Bland, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl.

The groom chose Adrian Stiffman as best man. Groomsmen were Bryan Smith; Scott Mayer; Justin Glenn; Garrett Beach; and Patrick Lewis, brother of bride.

Ushers were Samuel Bland and Jacob Bland, cousins of the bride. The ring bearers were Dawson Hood, nephew of the bride and Nicholas Noel, cousin of the bride. Following a wedding trip to St. Simon’s Island, Ga., the couple resides in Sellersburg, Ind.
